CHENNAI: Senior advocate PS Raman's claim that he travelled with
BCCI president N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan from Madurai to Mumbai in his capacity as 'a close family friend' and not as his lawyer has cut no ice within his fraternity and with cricket administrators as he is the vice-president of the
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
The TNCA president, of course, is N Srinivasan himself.
Notwithstanding Raman's denials, his status in TNCA and his role as BCCI's senior advocate are clearly in conflict with his conduct in accompanying a person suspected of being involved in the IPL betting scandal.
